2022 will be the launch year for Cheaha Extreme Triathlon, a long distance triathlon taking place on an extreme race course set in the tallest peaks of Alabama at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains. There are many long distance triathlons in North America but most take place within large cities, with runs on paved roads, and very little elevation gain. Following the extreme triathlon model that is super popular in Europe, Cheaha Extreme Triathlon will have about 15,000 feet of elevation gain over the 135 mile course, with a road bike and a trail run. Athletes are required to have at least one person in their support crew as the bike and run portions are self-supported. On this amazing journey of a race, you will experience stunning mountain vistas, steep climbs, blazing fast descents, waterfalls, and much more. More details about the course and rules will be posted in the athlete's guide book coming soon. Register now to secure your spot at the "High Place."
